Nineteen high school students traveled to Colombia in March. They visited the highlands of Bogotá for four days and then traveled to Villa de Leyva and Cartagena on the Caribbean coast. The trip was a fantastic opportunity for the students to practice their Spanish, particularly during the homestay in Villa de Leyva. They also learned about the current peace process in Colombia and about the great diversity Colombia has to offer. As you can see from the pictures, they enjoyed the local music and dance, and appreciated the contrasts between the different Colombian regions, and between urban and rural life.
