Two third grade poets were recently recognized by the Young Writers Awards program of The New York Society Library!

Untitled
Surely bitter hair would have claimed tangled brushes
an unheeded night I’ve loved
a tree with soft old bark
all falling
over and over
a perfect stance
names or faces I might never know again
even
all the putrid thick smells of New York

by Ruth M. (NYSL winner)

Cloudy
Above the city
a gray wash
wet on wet
watercolor
seeps
across the paper sky

by Dash P. (NYSL honorable mention)
