The library’s annual Harry Potter evening unfolded in epic style on Friday, April 26, with fortunes told, potions brewed, and spells cast. Head of School Kenyatte Reid, channeling Professor Albus Dumbledore, enchanted the students (fifth-graders enrolled in the library elective) with opening remarks that revealed some of 129 Pierrepont’s supernatural secrets. Ever wonder where that ram sculpture by the Red Stairs really came from? The evening, in which the library is transformed into the Saint Ann’s branch of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, can happen only thanks to adults from every division—and from outside school—and wonderful high school students eager to transmit their magic to the younger generation.
