Guide to Giving |
It’s been a busy and exciting few months on the project site! The roof was fully removed and rebuilt to support the future playspace, a process that required street closures, cranes, and steel picks from Pierrepont Street. Work is also progressing on the new elevator bulkhead, and inside the building a complex steel structure has been installed to expand the floor area. At the same time, mechanical and plumbing installations are underway, and the project team is actively refining the design and selecting finishes that will bring the new spaces to life.
In December, core administration toured the construction site to see a first-hand look at the progress.

Here is a behind-the-scenes look at the current state of construction.

Construction is in full swing!

On May 16, parents, faculty, and staff were invited to a celebratory open house for the latest addition to our campus, 142 Pierrepont Street. Attendees had a chance to tour the lower floors of the building—including the bank’s vault!—before construction begins this summer. Following the tours, guests gathered down the street in the Bosworth building to hear remarks from Head of School Kenyatte Reid, outgoing Board President Mino Capossela, and incoming Board President Mary Watson ’78. We all raised a glass to the future of Saint Ann’s.

Renderings revealed for the rooftop play space by designer Cas Holman. The 2000-square-foot space will feature a living willow fort, a ropes course, water feature, and more Kindergarten-centric spaces that invite the imagination and inspire joyful play.

Our Kindergarten faculty recently toured the inside of 142 Pierrepont, including the rooftop that will eventually hold a beautiful outdoor play space for students. Our Kindergarten will have a new permanent home, complete with four classrooms, a reading room, art room, and both an indoor and outdoor play space. As Bonnie Schiff-Glenn says, “Our children will continue to be nurtured in the “nest” of Kindergarten, but they’ll now be nestled in the heart of our campus.”
On July 26, 2023, Saint Ann’s School announced that we signed an agreement to lease and ultimately purchase 142 Pierrepont Street, a 25,000-square-foot building between Clinton Street and Cadman Plaza West.
