On Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, we hosted our second Model United Nations conference at Saint Ann’s. The conference went off very successfully.
SAMUN is a small, crisis-based conference. Crisis committees require delegates to react in real time to solve problems using diplomacy and negotiations. These committees also have the benefit of their own high-school crisis staffers, who, in addition to being in constant communication with individual delegates, make sure that they have a fast-paced, exciting experience.
This year we had over 200 students attending from both New York and New Jersey schools, quadrupling in size from last year! Our eight committees were Ebola Emergency Session, Greco-Persian Wars, IndoChina Summit 1961, ISIS, Hong Kong Protests, Mexican War on Drugs, Northern Mali Conflict and Qatar World Cup 2022.
