90-Second Newbery Films

In June 2018, library summer program participants created two films to submit to the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival. We worked diligently and had lots of fun making two short movies about Breaking Stalin’s Nose by Eugene Yelchin, Newbery-Honor winner from 2012. Students entering 4th-7th grades worked with fabulous counselors (aka video editors) and the results are stunning. Don’t take our word for it; here are our films featured on the festival’s website, complete with glowing praise:
Film created by current 4th graders

Next stop: the festival itself (March 30, BPL). Special thanks to our Russian teachers, puppet lender, and tech guru for your support!
