Facts and FAQs
What does Annual Giving support?
Tax-deductible annual fund gifts have an immediate positive impact on the day-to-day vibrancy of Saint Ann’s and ensure that we are able to offer the best education to our students. A critical source of revenue, annual fund gifts contribute nearly 6% of the School’s operating budget. The total amount we spend each year—to pay teachers and staff, provide scholarships, maintain our buildings, sustain small class sizes and a broad curriculum—is greater than the amount of tuition we collect. Gifts are typically spent the same year that they are given.
What is the financial aid budget?
One of the most important investments we make in the educational experience of every student is the funding we provide for financial aid, which enables us to enroll gifted children from across the city and across the socioeconomic spectrum. The financial aid budget for 2016-2017 is about $6M which will be awarded to approximately 245 students. Financial aid awards range between $2,000 to $42,305 for the year (the latter for a family with more than one student).
What is happening with the facilities at Saint Ann’s?
In addition to a building wide upgrade to the mechanical infrastructure of the School, the townhouses and Bosworth Building have exciting changes on the way. The townhouses at 122 and 124 Pierrepont Street will be connected and fully renovated for classrooms, art studios and some offices. The undercroft of the Bosworth Building will have new or updated music classrooms, practice rooms, assembly space, dance studio, and “hang-out” space. Other improvements to the Bosworth Building will include a renovated lobby, an assembly place, and an expanded dining room and kitchen with increased capacity.
